She oversees onboarding, operational capability, leadership development, and career pathways across the business.

The Challenge: Maintaining Operational Excellence During Hyper-Growth

El Jannah is a Lebanese-Australian fresh casual restaurant brand loved by thousands of people in Australia. El Jannah has built a deeply loyal customer base over the last 27 years, beginning with its first restaurant in Sydney’s Granville. Now, the business is focused on rapid national expansion.

In 2026, El Jannah plans to open 16 new restaurants in 16 weeks. This aggressive timeline requires hiring new team members at each restaurant across the country. To sustain this momentum without compromising service quality or their signature Lebanese guest experience, El Jannah required a highly scalable onboarding solution. Natalie looked to Kahoot! 360 to tackle this fast-paced onboarding challenge, particularly to efficiently train an incoming Gen Z workforce.

The restaurant industry is fast-paced. We looked into Kahoot! 360 as a solution for onboarding, as new hires require something that is engaging, it's fast, it's fun, and somewhere that they're going to learn more and retain their information.

The Solution: Standardizing onboarding and accelerating readiness with Kahoot! 360

Before introducing Kahoot! 360, El Jannah’s “Welcome Nights” struggled to consistently connect with the incoming generation of workers. To transform the passive learning experience among Gen Zers, Natalie and her team introduced Kahoot! 360 as part of the onboarding strategy for El Jannah’s Welcome Nights.

Held one week before a restaurant opening, these three-hour interactive events utilize Kahoot! 360 to reinforce key learnings about the history of El Jannah, their values, guest experience standards, roles and responsibilities, and safety practices that underpin their restaurant operations.

Because many Gen Z team members are already familiar with Kahoot! from school or university, adoption is immediate. This familiarity immediately breaks down barriers, reducing first-day anxiety and streamlining the training process. It also helps new team members to form relationships before they even begin working together.

El Jannah believes that the positive word-of-mouth generated during the onboarding process at Welcome Night gives them a competitive advantage in attracting the right team members. Many new hires share their positive experiences with friends, making El Jannah a preferred employer within the community. Additionally, the use of Kahoot! 360 has played a significant role in fostering these positive reactions.

Beyond Onboarding: Driving ROI Across Internal Communications

El Jannah has expanded its use of Kahoot! 360 far beyond new hires, utilizing the platform to support learning, capability development and team engagement across the business.

The team hosts regular virtual “Munch & Learn” sessions for 100 to 150 restaurant managers and leaders, covering topics such as new systems, menu launches, marketing campaigns and operational initiatives. By concluding each session with a Kahoot! 360, the team effectively reinforces key concepts and makes learning memorable, rather than just another task.

Kahoot! 360 is also used to drive engagement during internal events and celebrations, including friendly competitions for occasions such as Harmony Day and Christmas, helping bring team members together through fun, interactive experiences.

By standardizing onboarding and training at scale, El Jannah efficiently readies its growing Gen Z workforce while mitigating the operational risks associated with hyper-growth.

Looking ahead, El Jannah is set to further expand Kahoot! 360 usage, ensuring that from new team members to senior management, critical business knowledge is retained and executed flawlessly.
